Inside spread

Dasiqox Tribal Park or Nexwagwezʔan – “It is there for us” – is a proposed land, water and wildlife management area in traditional Tŝilhqot’in territory, located about 125 kilometres southwest of Williams Lake, BC.

This inaugural newsletter forms a template for future issues, which share stories and updates about the Tribal Park with Tsilhqot’in community members. It is also intended to continue building a movement of support for the Tribal Park concept with this community. The newsletter shares stories and images from the community. Community pride is very important and seeing their members in the newsletter is vital. Thus I was careful to ensure people were identifiable in most of the images, and where there were options, I chose the images that included people and not just nature.

The style is adapted from the Tribal Park’s website and, while maintaining a level of professionalism and quality, aims to be authentic, human and accessible so it feels like it’s a product of the community.
