ECU Undergraduate Exhibition 2007
A semi-permanent addition to the annual grad show, Emily Carr University launched its first school-wide exhibition website in 2007. The work of over 200 graduating students who participated (mandatory for design only) are showcased. Designed and built in collaboration with a team of designers and student volunteers, the website displays artwork without distraction while honouring the themes and branding of the show's print materials. Accessibility, readability, and compatibility are given full priority in the design, which utilizes colour for user location. Strict editing standards allowed a database- and template-driven system that minimized work and promoted consistency. AJAX slideshows elegantly display work with two size options. My design, chosen for its simplicity and neutral colour, was refined in co-operation with the team.

I am a communication designer in Vancouver, BC. I love designing and developing websites, and I occasionally design for print. I am the lead designer at the David Suzuki Foundation where I work on a variety of projects to engage and increase supporters, and to communicate the importance of living within the limits of nature. Yes, I'm a nerd and a treehugger.
