Dine Out Vancouver
Dine Out Vancouver was one of three events for which our class could choose to design posters and brochures. The poster's drawing evokes old dictionary engravings and is based on a photograph I took of sushi-shaped erasers in a dish. The project challenged me to examine my typography in detail, and inspired reflection on a past assignment for which the focus was on spacial relationships between letterforms.
The typography of the poster was applied to the accompanying brochure. Circles reflect the shape of a plate or the flag of Japan. The inside spread is a card listing the names of participating restaurants under their price category. It is inteded to be removed from the brochure and taken along in a pocket or purse for reference. (Print shop error caused height inconsistency between the two spreads.)

About
I am a communication designer in Vancouver, BC. I love designing and developing websites, and I occasionally design for print. I am the lead designer at the David Suzuki Foundation where I work on a variety of projects to engage and increase supporters, and to communicate the importance of living within the limits of nature. Yes, I'm a nerd and a treehugger.
