TransLink City of Surrey ditches Cloverdalians

Call it what you might, but I live here. I chose to live here (with some negotiating!), and as long as my commute may be, I pay a pretty low rent for a nice, big new space. Cloverdale — the little town in Surrey that could.
Well, it could until next week.
TransLink is rolling out yet more "improvements" to the 502 bus that runs from Surrey Central to the boonies (Aldergrove) and back. Yes, improvements: it will be every 15 minutes most of the time, if not more frequent (peak times), which rocks my socks. Unfortunately, their little footnote to their "improvements" message is thus: the 502 is moving back to Fraser Highway, as of Monday, June 25.

How to feel very special
1. Get your dream job.
2. Attend an industry event with your coworkers, and cheer for them when they win free stuff.
3. Tell your friends at the event that the coworker of yours who won free stuff is your coworker.
4. Write down or give out a card with your name and position/company on it.
5. Acknowledge the meaning in your life when you say, "see you tomorrow" or "see you in the morning."
6. Put your name and occupation in the signature of your emails.
7. Add your job title and company to your Facebook profile.
8. Tell other potential employers you've accepted another job.
9. Blog about the amazing week you've had with the talented people you now work with.
10. Answer "Interactive Designer" (or other position) when asked your job title, and grin proudly as you watch the financial advisor write it down on your new credit card application (par example). Then wonder if the bank or credit card company will even know what it means.
11. ...?

Happiness is...

Sunshine, filtered through deciduous trees or white clouds.
A box of 20 small mangoes carried home. Four down, sixteen to go.
Handfuls of gleaming sun-warmed salmonberries fresh from the bush.
A bowl of cool salmonberries swimming in creamy, sweetened goat's milk.
Pure, raw vegetables and fruit in a feast fit for full bellies and a clean kitchen thereafter.
A cool breeze to relieve hot skin.
The scent of lemons, cilantro and garlic, with the knowledge they'll soon be consumed with zest.
A friend with whom to share delectable delights.
Fresh air, nostalgic scents and wild noises in a sanctuary of trees.
A remembering of past times in which we felt this way.
The knowledge that we can do it again soon.
